Clinical Placements

Clinical Placements

Students who wish to complete a placement with a partner program at North Bay Regional Health Centre are well advised to prepare for specific clinical placement requirements.

All students assigned to or considering the selection of a clinical placement must meet with their placement officer prior to initiating the orientation process.

  1. Students must provide proof of immunisations through a medical clearance card. The Campus Health Centre provides clearance cards at no cost to Nipissing Students. Students are advised to book an appointment early, referencing the need for medical clearance for a clinical placement. Once completed, medical clearance cards are presented to the placement officer. Students are able to provide proof of immunity through family physicians or area health units. Students choosing to proceed in this fashion are encouraged to request the proof of immunity form from the placement office prior to their appointment.
  2. Mask fit testing. Students are required to complete N95 mask fit testing. Information about local providers for this test may be obtained from the placement office.

Once the clinical requirements have been met, the PHED placement office connects with the hospital to arrange for an orientation for each student at the hospital work site.
