Tasks/Responsibilities
- Assist staff with the planning and organization of programs
- Assist with the set up and tear down of programs
- Prepare appropriate activities for programming.
- Encourage a caring and supportive environment
- Maintain confidentiality
- Communication with clients and care partners throughout programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a student in the Physical and Health Education Program, health promotion, gerontology, nursing or other related fields.
- Experience with older adults, an asset
- Possess an interest in recreation activities and physical exercise
- Familiar with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias an asset.
- Patience, good communication skills, good listener, non-judgmental
- Organized, reliable, dependable, and trustworthy
- Computer skills are an asset
- Must be friendly outgoing and ambitious.
- Must be flexible and able to work independently
