Alzheimer Society North Bay Placement Details

Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Assist staff with the planning and organization of programs
  • Assist with the set up and tear down of programs
  • Prepare appropriate activities for programming.
  • Encourage a caring and supportive environment
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Communication with clients and care partners throughout programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be a student in the Physical and Health Education Program, health promotion, gerontology, nursing or other related fields.
  • Experience with older adults, an asset
  • Possess an interest in recreation activities and physical exercise
  • Familiar with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias an asset.
  • Patience, good communication skills, good listener, non-judgmental
  • Organized, reliable, dependable, and trustworthy
  • Computer skills are an asset
  • Must be friendly outgoing and ambitious.
  • Must be flexible and able to work independently
